1. Who we are
Glucogaze is run by your full name, a sole trader trading as Glucogaze, from business address service address. Email support email, or legal@glucogaze.com for anything legal.
These terms, the Disclaimers and the Privacy Policy are the agreement between you and us for this website, your account and dashboard, the APIs your screens talk to and the Glucogaze firmware (“the service”). By using the service you agree to them. Where they overlap on safety, the Disclaimers win.
When you pay, Stripe sells to you as the merchant of record. Stripe is the seller on your payment and receipt, works out any VAT or sales tax for where you live (it is in the price you see) and takes the payment. What you get, the credits and Glucogaze Plus, comes from us under these terms.
2. Using Glucogaze
Who can use it. You must be 18 or over to have an account. Glucogaze is for personal and family use only, never in a professional, clinical, care or institutional setting such as a care home, school, clinic or workplace. The web app, the firmware and the three free faces cost nothing.
Your account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, give accurate details, and tell us at legal@glucogaze.com if you think someone else has got in. You are responsible for what is done through your account. If you lose or give away a screen, revoke it from your dashboard.
People you look after. If you add anyone other than yourself, you confirm you have parental responsibility for them or their informed, explicit consent; that you have told them what Glucogaze is and what it holds about them; and that you will remove them if that authority ends. Think about where a screen sits: in a shared room it shows their health data to anyone passing.
Your data sources. Glucogaze reads data from services you connect, such as LibreLink Up, Dexcom Share or Nightscout, often through unofficial interfaces. You confirm the credentials are yours to use, and you accept that the provider may change or stop access at any time, or act on its own terms against your account with it. If a source stops working, that is how an unofficial integration behaves, not a fault on our part; we will try to restore it but can’t promise to.
Hardware and firmware. We do not sell or supply hardware; you buy your screen from someone else, and your rights over it are with them. The firmware is free and provided as is, without warranty. Flashing it can permanently brick a device and will usually void its warranty. You install it, power it and site it at your own risk, lithium cells included (see the Disclaimers). Updates are offered, not forced, and we may stop supporting a device.
Acceptable use. Don’t break the law with it, get into data or accounts that aren’t yours, probe or overload it, scrape it, poll our APIs or a provider’s faster than the service does, impersonate anyone, resell it, or present it to anyone as a medical device or monitoring service. If you switch on a public profile page, what you put on it must be lawful and must not be abusive, impersonate anyone or carry anyone else’s personal details. Anyone can report a page to legal@glucogaze.com; we look within seven days and may hide a page or close an account that breaks these rules, telling you first where that is reasonable.
Your content. Your data stays yours. You let us store it, fetch it from your sources and send it to your screens, and nothing more. Feedback you send us we may use freely.
Availability. The service is run by one person and depends on others, so we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or end features, or the service, and will try to give notice and a chance to export your data. Keep your own exports (Settings) of anything you would miss. You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings; we may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, telling you first where that is reasonable.
3. Buying credits and Plus
You must be 18 or over and buy from your own login. People you look after can’t buy. Prices are in pounds; Stripe shows them in your own currency and the ways you can pay where you live. You can buy from most countries; Stripe can’t take payments from a few. We never see your card details.
Credits
- Credits are only for the Glucogaze store. They have no cash value and can’t be swapped back for money, except as a refund below.
- They don’t expire. Items you buy with them stay yours.
- You can give credits to people you look after and take back any they haven’t spent.
Your right to cancel and refunds
Credits are digital content and are added to your account straight away. At checkout you ask for that, and agree that you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once they are added. Even so, we refund credits you haven’t spent if you ask within 14 days of buying them, back to the way you paid. Stripe may also refund a payment itself; when it does, we take back the unspent credits from it.
If you dispute a payment with your bank, we take back the unspent credits from it and may pause buying on your account until it is settled.
Glucogaze Plus
- £3.99 a month or £39.00 a year, with the credits and pack bonus shown when you start. You see the price before you pay. It starts straight away and renews until you cancel.
- Cancel any time in Settings › Glucogaze Plus, in one click. It stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, then stops.
- We email you a reminder before each yearly renewal.
- 14-day cooling-off. If you cancel within 14 days of starting Plus, we refund what you paid in full and Plus ends straight away. We take back the credits it gave you; if you have spent some, we take back what you bought with them instead, newest first, and any screen showing it goes back to a free style.
- Otherwise, credits from Plus stay yours after you cancel.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account cancels Plus straight away and removes any credits you haven’t spent. We keep a record of your orders, without your name or email, for 6 years because tax law requires it.
4. Not a medical device
Glucogaze is not a medical device and must not be used to make treatment decisions. Confirm readings with your approved meter or official CGM app, keep your CGM’s own alarms on, and make treatment decisions with your healthcare team. The full terms are in the Disclaimers, which you accept by using the service.
5. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit, including your rights as a consumer.
Credits and Glucogaze Plus must be as described and work as they should. If they don’t, tell us and we will put it right or refund you. That is your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and these terms don’t take it away.
Apart from that, the free service is provided as is and as available. We don’t promise any reading, trend or alert will be accurate, current or delivered at all, and we are not liable for loss caused by relying on it for health, safety or treatment, which we tell you not to do; by a late, missing or wrong reading; by a third party such as a CGM provider, a hardware seller or our own suppliers; or by losses that were not foreseeable. Our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
If you break these terms, for example by misusing the APIs or adding someone without the authority above, you are responsible for the reasonable, foreseeable losses that cause us.
6. Trademarks and no affiliation
Glucogaze is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Abbott, Dexcom, the Nightscout project, GeekMagic or any other provider or manufacturer. FreeStyle, Libre, LibreLink and LibreLinkUp are trademarks of Abbott; Dexcom and Dexcom Share of Dexcom, Inc.; GeekMagic and SmallTV of their maker; Google, Cloudflare, Vercel, Supabase, Stripe and GitHub of their owners. They are used only to describe what works with what. “Glucogaze”, its logo and its faces are ours.
Glucogaze is built with open-source software (including Next.js, React, the Supabase libraries, Font Awesome Free, Poppins and the Nayuki QR Code generator) under their own licences, which win over these terms for those parts. A full list is available on request.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change matters to you, we will try to tell you before it takes effect; if you don’t accept it, stop using the service and delete your account. A change never alters a purchase you have already made.
8. Complaints and contact
If something has gone wrong, email legal@glucogaze.com and we will do our best to put it right. Privacy complaints are covered in the Privacy Policy.
Report a security problem privately to the same address and give us a fair chance to fix it before telling anyone. We won’t pursue good-faith research that stays inside your own account, touches nobody else’s data, doesn’t slow the service for others and stops at the first sign of a real problem.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with disputes. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protections of your home nation’s law and may use its courts; if you live outside the UK, you keep the consumer protections of your own country’s law. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
